Bibs or clothing protectors 2008/09/06 06:08
We are investigating options to our continued use of “clothing protectors”” @ mealtime. I was curious if anyone has successfully done away w/ these or have they found any innovative alternatives to use in lieu of the “traditional” ones? If you can be of any assistance, I’d appreciate it. Thanks. Tammy

Tammy - some homes have moved to using large cloth napkins like restaurants use. Sometimes they add a layer of terry cloth behind to give the napkins extra thickness. There is also a web site I read about in an Culture Change Now e-newsletter, www.sunflowerql.com. They make large napkins that an elder can stick in their collar and it provides good clothing coverage. It was created by someone working in a nursing home. A pretty cool idea.

Hello Friends!
At Rolling Fields, we have replaced the traditional terrycloth, bib-like clothing protectors with fine, cream-colored, linen napkins that match our tablecloths. They are of regular thickness.
