We are remodeling our facility and would like to go with in room Locking Medicine Cabinets. This way the nurse won't have to push a cart around the facility. Just go into the resident's room and give them their meds. I would like to know if anyone is doing this and if so where did they get the Medicine Cabinets. Company and contact person if possible.

Hi, I am really new here but your question intrigued me. Several years ago at one of my facilities we addressed the same issue. We however, did not buy medicine cabinets we simply added a lock set to one of closet drawers. Meds were stored there for each individual. This was similar to a system we had observed in a personal care unit at the hospital. We had a very positive outcome, # 1 the appearance of our facility being a place for the sick was eliminated and surprisingly #2 work related injuries were down! Hope I helped a little bit.
