Donnellson Health Center can trace its history back to 1955 in Donnellson, Iowa. It seems that year that Lial D. Metz opened a nursing home at the intersection of Oak and Madison streets. The building is still in existence as the Woods apartments. Lial Metz operated the nursing home until 1969 when she sold the home to Clyde and June Dowell June 1,1969.
