While we recognize the fact that it is never easy to make the decision for yourself or a loved one to move to a nursing home, Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis strives to provide a home full of warmth and love. Our home is divided into four small neighborhoods, each consisting of separate living and dining areas. Staff and residents on the neighborhoods build close relationships and become like family to one another.

The Good Samaritan Society – Minneapolis is a registered Eden Alternative home and was a recipient of the 2002 and 2008 PEAK award from the Kansas Department on Aging. PEAK stands for “Promoting Excellent Alternatives in Kansas Nursing Homes” and is an initiative that was started to promote alternative quality care practices. The Eden Alternative is an initiative focused around 10 basic principles that strive to improve quality of life by eliminating common problems among the elderly such as loneliness, helplessness, and boredom. Visits from the children attending the onsite preschool really keep the interaction spontaneous and fun!
