Eden Apprentice Workshops are a daylong interactive learning experience that introduce young people, ages 11 to 18 to the Eden Alternative principles. We recommend delivering the training in two tracks:
- Eden Apprentice, Track I for ages 11-14, and
- Eden Apprentice, Track II for ages 15-18
Together, Participating Eden Apprentices Explore...
- Understanding aging and ageism, as it impacts both young and old alike
- Redefining Elderhood in our culture and its value to younger generations
- Enhancing sensitivity and understanding of experiences unique to aging
- Deepening connections through the power of story
- Perceiving the value of being deeply-known
- Recognizing and responding to loneliness, helplessness, and boredom
- Appreciating the power of giving as well as receiving
- Making a space for “being” as well as “doing” in our interactions
- Recognizing and honoring meaning
- Communicating more effectively and openly
- Empowering participants to conceive their own intergenerational projects
- Opening hearts as well as minds
