 Want to Help Reinvent How Elders Are Perceived in Our Communities?
As an Embracing Elderhood (EE) Certified Trainer, you are empowered to coordinate an ongoing Embracing Elderhood project in your organization or community. Over time, your certification also makes it possible for you to facilitate EE Recording Partner Workshops and to continue training new volunteers and/or students who will serve as Recording Partners to the Elder Storytellers that participate in your project. Making legacy creation an ongoing part of your organizational or community culture shows your commitment to promoting sensitive, connected intergenerational communities, no matter where Elders live.
Who Should Seek Trainer Certification?
Potential replicating organizations include: School districts, private schools, youth-oriented organizations, faith-based organizations, area agencies on aging, community organizations, senior centers, and long-term care organizations interested in building alliances within the larger community.
Prospective trainers must attend all 2 1/2 days of their workshop experience in order to be certified as Embracing Elderhood Certified Trainers for the organizations that they represent. Workshop participants receive a step-by-step Trainer’s Guide, additional reference materials, and our EE Replication Guide to support project success.

What Does Trainer Certification Look Like?
Scheduled through host sites and facilitated by Eden at Home Educators, our 2 ½ day format for the Embracing Elderhood Trainer Certification Workshop looks like this:
Day 1:
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including lunch
Day I of Recording Partner Workshop content
Day 2:
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including lunch
Day II of Recording Partner Workshop content
Day 3:
9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
