In Memoriam

We are deeply saddened to share that Hannah O’Hara Thomas, daughter of Eden Alternative Founders, Bill and Jude Thomas, passed early this morning, March 27, 2015. For all of her 18 years, Hannah has helped the world-wide Eden Alternative community to grow. A master teacher in the art of BEING, Hannah has mentored us all in the truth that each of us has a special gift to offer the world, no matter who we are or what life sends our way.

Learn more about Hannah in this tribute from her big brother, Virgil.

Thank you for writing and sharing such beautiful, pure love Virgil. Everything and more of what it means to be a brother. My heart is once again filled with emotion by your family’s amazing connection, devotion, and abiding love. I only met Hannah recently, but the joy and sense of calm just being in the same room as she and her sister, stays with me. May we pass on the treasures she gave us.
Deepest regards and sympathies….

I came to the Eden Alternative website having just finished “Being Mortal,” and wanting to know more about such a wonderful concept. The news of Hannah’s passing was the first thing I saw. My heart immediately flooded with sympathy for Hannah’s parents and siblings. And so I write, not knowing any of you, but offering my sorrow for your sorrow, with the sure knowledge that your precious girl is surrounded by Divine love forever.

Like many people, I’ve learned about your work through Atul Gawande’s book Being Mortal. I’m very sad to check out your website this morning and learn of this loss. May the love and hope you’ve brought to so many others come back to you and bring you comfort.
