Eden at Home Trainer Certification: Applying the Eden Alternative Principles to Home and Community-Based Care
(General or Dementia-Specific Versions Available) 19.5 Continuing Education Units available for General Version via the National Association of Boards
This 3-day training experience empowers participants to conduct Eden at Home Care Partner Workshops in the larger community and within their organizations. Certified Eden at Home Trainers will focus on inspiring care partners to build collaborative teams that include the active participation of the Elders themselves. Participants will take the Eden Alternative Principles, and learn how they can be applied in home and community-based settings to bring life-changing results for Elders and their care partners. Care Partner Workshops empower care partners to:
- Put the Eden Alternative Principles into action sustainably and effectively;
- Develop meaningful connections through thoughtful and effective communication;
- Prevent loneliness, helplessness, and boredom for all on the care partner team; and
- Work together to reduce stress and burnout.
In addition to learning how to deliver Eden at Home Care Partner Workshops, new Certified Eden at Home Trainers function as change agents in their organizations, prepared to infuse persondirected concepts via the Eden Alternative Philosophy into the daily operations and culture of their organizations.
This training is the essential first step for home and communitybased care organizations who wish to adopt the Eden Alternative Philosophy and join the Eden Registry.
The Dementia-Specific version of the curriculum is available as a for-purchase training kit only to organizations that have Certified Eden at Home Trainers who have completed Eden at Home Trainer Certification in the General version.
