For more than ten years, Eden Alternative Registered Homes have been working on implementing the philosophy and principles. We have been privileged to learn from their examples of success as well as the challenges they have faced along their journey. The lessons they have taught us all are now being brought together in a new resource that will be available to registered homes of today, as well as those joining in the future. This resource is called the Path to Mastery^SM.

The word “path” is a reference to how the transformation of a nursing home into a human habitat is a never-ending journey. The word “mastery” refers to how homes grow with The Eden Alternative philosophy. Progress is taken in steps followed by periods of time where the new skills are mastered and incorporated into the whole of the organization before the next steps are taken.

More information will be coming about the Path to Mastery^SM soon. We believe it will be a valuable resource to all nursing homes that have chosen to step up and announce their commitment to transformational change using The Eden Alternative philosophy by joining the registry. We also expect that as registered homes continue to pioneer new approaches to eldercare, this resource will be evolving and changing as well.
