The Path to Mastery: The Art of Creating a Caring Community
For more than ten years, Eden Alternative Registered Homes have been working on implementing the Philosophy and Principles. This experience is now being brought together in a new resource that will be available to Registered Homes committed to transformational change using The Eden Alternative Philosophy.
The word “path” is a reference to how the transformation of a nursing home into a Human Habitat is a never-ending journey. The word “mastery” refers to how homes grow with The Eden Alternative Philosophy. Progress is taken in small steps over time, and new skills are mastered and incorporated into the whole of the organization before the next steps are taken.
The Path to Mastery™ has four Milestones each filled with numerous outcome steps related to personal, organization and physical transformations. If you are interested in ordering materials, please refer to the blue box on the left side of this page, choose the appropriate milestone by clicking on its name (Milestone 1, 2, 3, or 4), and follow instructions from there.

The Path to Mastery™ includes tools and resources to help organizations in the transformation process succeed, and provides a method to track progress along the way.
Who is the Path to Mastery™ for? The Path to Mastery has something for everyone including organizations that are experienced with The Eden Alternative, and those that are just starting out on the culture change journey. There will even be resources for consumers who want to track and assess the progress of individual Eden Registered Homes via our Web site. Each home's progress along the Path to Mastery will be noted with their entry on the Web site.
