Hearthstone Manor in Medford, OR renewed their Eden Registry status on January 27, 2010. This is a home that understands the seasons of growth on the Eden journey and is good at keeping people engaged and ready to move forward when the time is right. The addition of a Wii gaming system to the home has created opportunities for Elders to interact, have fun, and teach each other the skills needed to master the game. This home is involved with MOVE (Making Oregon Vital for Elders). It is a grant program that supports homes in their culture change efforts including having a state surveyor participate on their culture change team. They are very proud of how they create home for people living with dementia. Their Life Enrichment Plans include the life history, preferences, and simple pleasures of the Elder. They also capture life stories from the Elders and care partners to help people become well-known in their community. Despite having the kitchen detached from the physical structure of the home, they have managed to create a person-centered dining experience. This is a home that plans to never stop growing and trying new things on their Eden journey.
