Masonic Village at Warminster in Warminster, PA renewed their Eden Registry status on May 4, 2010. The common heritage in the Masonic organizations helps to create a closely connected community within this home. The care partners know the Elders well and share in their history, honor their preferences and create a learning and growing environment. Lifelong learning is important to the Elders as they try out art classes, write limericks and poetry, surf the internet and play Wii. The home is located where there is lots of wildlife around. Right now there is a duck hatching eggs near their front driveway with everyone sneaking a peek to see how it is going. The local school children come by regularly to share stories and show-and-tell with the Elders. Wellness is a focus of attention for the Elders and care partners daily. Learning circles are a tool used often to discuss issues and develop ideas for meaningful events with the Elders. It is the season for planting at the home and the care partners and Elders have been busy filling up the flower boxes while others watch and offer advice from the windows. There is a fish pond in the garden that is home to about 18 fish. The Elders describe their home as a hotel with medical benefits. There is a continuation of normal life regardless of the need for assistance with daily life. They really know how to dance their way through the day together.
