Parkview Care Center in Evansville, IN renewed their Eden Registry status on May 19, 2010. This community believes in maximizing Elder choice. For example, the Food Committee that meets monthly has created an Always Available menu to supplement the regular menu in the home. Items on this menu include pizza, baked potatoes, cottage cheese, fruit and chicken noodle soup. Their Human Habitat is vibrant and lively which attracts Elders and care partners to their home. They support life in the larger community through Operation Christmas Child, fund raising, collections for the food bank and donating items when disaster strikes around the world. The home has Wifi throughout so the Elders can enjoy surfing the internet from the comfort of their room. The community has been divided into three neighborhoods and everyone who lives and works there is a part of one of the neighborhoods. The Pride Team in the home creates opportunities for the Elders and care partners to spend time together and generate community spirit whether it is on funny hat day or through fund raisers.
