Windsor Place in Coffeyville, KS renewed their Eden Registry status on October 6, 2009. This home is filled with laughter and song everyday as a class of kindergarten children call Windsor Place their school. The Elders are there to greet them each morning. The children sing their way through the dining rooms in the morning and the Grandmas and Grandpas read to them and help with class projects throughout the day. Said one staff member, “the children are becoming care partners too, they are very observant”. The residents have stocked Snack Shacks in their communities where they can have access to the foods they love throughout the day. Meals are served restaurant style and they have the best breakfast anywhere! All care partners attend a 3.5 hour class annually on person-centered care where they talk about vital aging, choice, control and how to put the person before the task. The Elders love to follow the local high school and football teams, love sending and receiving e-mails in their computer lab and are a part of the hiring team for new employees. Life is rich and abundant at Windsor Place.
