Frasier Meadows Assisted Living in Boulder, CO joined the Eden Registry on September 20, 2010. This is a lively community filled with 32 dynamic and unique individuals. Together they have created their mission statement: We are many people with different personalities wishing to live safely and harmoniously together. They are part of a larger campus that includes independent living, skilled services, adult day care and onsite child care. They have been working on implementing the Eden Alternative since 2002 and have made some great strides already. They have an art gallery and a few of their Elders have been recognized as award winning artists by the Alzheimer's Association. Gathering for meals is a highlight for the day and the Elders have decided that they will switch off tablemates monthly in order to get to know everyone in the home. There is a wellness center on campus that offers a variety of exercise classes and has a swimming pool. The Elders really drive daily life in the home from choosing menus, decorating for parties, leading social events, volunteering across the campus, caring for plants in the green room or spending time at the reception desk in the home. If you move into the home, you will likely be greeted by Max, one of the Elders, who will provide you with a map of the home that includes where the dogs sleep. They are well on their way and we are excited to see where they bloom next!
