St. Paul Health Center in Denver, CO joined the Eden Registry on April 12, 2011. They are home to about 130 Elders. They are located close to a city park, museum and the zoo in downtown Denver. The Elders have formed a Wii bowling team and won their league in the local Denver area. Their home is divided into five neighborhoods, each of which nurtures close relationships between the Elders and their care partners. If you are guest with them for a short amount of time, you have the benefit of a concierge in your neighborhood that help you access the support you need. The whole community loves to be spontaneous whether it is hopping on the bus to go out for Mexican for lunch, or hosting a cooking or dance class. They believe in helping everyone become well-known within the community. They have a team committed to learning people's preferences and helping simple pleasures come to life for all the Elders. They believe in the power of education as a tool to create a life worth living for all associated with the home. They have also discovered that even when things do not go as planned it is an opportunity to learn something new. Everyone (Elders and employees) contributes to their journey by participating on a team of interest to them whether it is focused on pets, welcoming, gardening, food, wellness, or neighborhood growth. They have laid a good foundation that will lead to lots of potential for the future!
