Hudson Memorial Nursing Home in El Dorado, AR renewed their Eden Registry status on March 8, 2010. Caring relationships are at the heart of how they live each day. They have quite a diverse Human Habitat with birds, cats, dogs, fish (inside and outside), chickens, rabbit and homing pigeons. They are located next to a wooded area, so nature is a part of the enjoyment of spending time outside. The Elders have a local domino contest between the long-term care homes in their community. The winner receives the traveling trophy and gets to host next year’s tournament. When everyone comes together for lunch, it is the social time of the day. They have a large number of volunteers that come to the home from the community to enrich lives throughout the home. When someone new moves into the home or comes to work there, there is no lack of introductions as they all try to get to know one another as quickly as possible. Relationships are a key ingredient to their ongoing success!
