Are you looking for a peer on the Registry that has implemented some changes you are contemplating? There is a good chance that someone has already made the change and is willing to help you out. This spreadsheet should help you find an organization you can network with on your Eden Alternative journey.
Eden Mentors are Certified Eden Associates who have gained experience in implementing the Eden Philosophy and Principles and now want to be accessible to assist organizations working on their journey. Registry Members can contact an Eden Mentor when they need guidance along the journey. The Mentors are always eager to assist others. Eden Associates interested in becoming Eden Mentors can fill out the application on the website and send it to the Eden Mentor Leader for review and follow-up.
Eden Educators are Certified Eden Associates or Certified Eden at Home Associates who have been through a one-week training course to prepare them to conduct the Certified Eden Associate training as well as other educational offerings from the Eden Alternative. Organizations that grow their own Eden Educator have a powerful internal resource to strengthen their journey, and enable them to save significant money on their training budget.
The Eden Alternative has developed an overview brochure that tells the story of the Eden Registry, the Path to Mastery, the benefits of joining and the organizational results that can be realized (based on data being collected as a part of the Path to Mastery). You can share the brochure electronically or contact Sue Gerould, email@example.com, at the Eden Alternative Home Office to order copies to distribute to others interested in joining the Registry. The brochures can also be a great tool to educate others in your organization about the value of Registry membership
As you are looking for resources to support your Eden journey, do not forget to look to the Eden Alternative organization and the team at the home office. The Education Coordinator and can assist you if you are interested in hosting one of our workshops which can be a low-cost way to build the expertise you need within your home. The Pioneer Network is a national organization under which all approaches to changing the culture of aging are welcome. They host annual conferences around the country which are well attended and filled with many ideas to enrich the Eden journey. They are also working closely with CMS and other national healthcare organizations to work on clearing the regulatory path to some of the more innovative approaches to culture change. A cross-walk tool has been developed for each AHCA/NCAL Quality Award Program. Each cross-walk tool lists the award criteria, how they connect to person-directed care, the Eden Alternative Principles that apply to the criteria and resources available to assist organizations in meeting the criteria. If your organization is applying for the Quality Awards, these cross-walk tools will help you prepare to meet the necessary requirements. It is guaranteed that this tool will stimulate discussions to further the journey and enhance quality across the organization.
