How do we gain it? How do we lose it?

Barry Schwartz is a psychologist who has spent a great deal of his career trying to unpack and understand wisdom. Wisdom is probably our most precious natural resource.

The good news is you don’t need to be brilliant to be wise. The bad news is that without wisdom brilliance is not enough.

Schwartz discusses many aspects of wisdom including how we gain it and how it can be applied to situations to better serve people involved.

Although elder-hood is ripe with wisdom it is not the only place where the wise can be found. In his talk Schwartz discusses the wisdom displayed by janitors. How they went against hospital policy to serve the patients and family. Conclusion, people in every position of an organization have the opportunity to share their wisdom with the rest of the team.
