Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio joined the Eden Alternative registry on April, 24 2014.

When you pull up to the door you will know you are at a place of high esteem and honor because of the grand colonial style building complete with cannon and statue of Ulysses S. Grant.

This lovely home sits on 35 wooded acres featuring a paved walking path, raised garden beds, and a covered picnic shelter. Home to 168 Veterans the care partner employees take pride in creating home with those who have served our great country. Each day is filled with meaningful activities and meaningful relationships.

Care partner employees take the time to get to know each Elder’s simple pleasures and works diligently to honor their individual differences. Currently, they are in the process of adding an 11,000 sq. ft. multipurpose building and an 1800 sq. ft. activity room complete with new activity equipment and simulator classrooms for state of the art care partner employee training. Veterans drive the rhythm daily life, they awaken on their own schedule and when they are ready head to the dining room for a warm delicious breakfast made to their liking.

After breakfast many Elders go outside to take in the beautiful scenery, throw horseshoes, walk on the pathway or simply sit on the front porch and visit with friends and family. The gift shop that is run by local volunteers is a great place to go pick up a last minute gift or fun little treats. Spiritual needs are met by the onsite chaplain who provides weekly bible studies, prayer time and church services. It is our great honor to Welcome Ohio Veterans home in Georgetown to the Eden Alternative Registry!
