Culture Change is a Buzz in Texas

On March 12, 2012, Dr. Bill Thomas and 186 culture change advocates gathered at the The Brookwood Community in Brookshire, Texas to share in a movement to transform the culture of care regardless of where people live. The day was filled with great food, great stories, and great new friends!  We are pleased with the event’s success, and we could not have done it without the support of The Brookwood Community and the Texas Culture Change Coalition.

It is often said that education is the antidote to fear and this day was filled with opportunities to teach and learn from each other. Attendees represented represented the full continuum of care from home and community-based services to long-term care environments.  At the end of the day, everyone agreed that successful culture change hinges entirely on the creation and ongoing support of knowledgeable, empowered teams.

We’ve planted the seeds for change, and now we must work together to help them grow! Visit the Eden Alternative web site at www.edenalt.org to learn more about our extensive educational offerings and how to join the Eden Registry.
Let’s build on what we’ve started.  Work with your state culture change coalition to promote the transformation of care in your state.

The time is now…

Hallelujah Texas! I left the state to find culture change. It’s great to see the movement is gaining tangible traction in a sustainable way. I hope to see/hear more from the TCCC.
