The Eden Alternative is proud to announce that Saint Paul Heath Center in Denver has joined the ranks of The Eden Alternative® Registry, marking its commitment to improving the quality of care and quality of life for its residents and staff.

Saint Paul staff and administration recently completed the Eden Alternative’s professional development training in person-directed care. Person-directed care is an approach to care that honors and respects the voice of individuals and those working closest with them.

St. Paul joins the nearly 10 percent of Colorado skilled nursing facilities that are registered members of the Eden Alternative.

“Here at Saint Paul Health Center, we have worked through the process to become an Eden Registered Home because our entire staff at every level of the care spectrum is committed to creating a warm, loving home using the principles and practices of The Eden Alternative.” said Sara Dent, NHA MBA. “We share The Eden Alternative’s belief that the most effective care happens when there is a partnership between the caregiver and the care receiver. Just as in a family, close relationships are grown by having the elders and care partners make daily decisions together such daily routines, what to eat, what to spend their time doing, when to celebrate and what to improve. In partnership with The Eden Alternative, SPHC is transforming into a place where elders come to live and thrive — something we all want for our loved ones, and eventually for ourselves.”
