Where Hearing Challenges Meet Loneliness, Helplessness, and Boredom
July 10, 2019 from 3-4:00 pm ET
Co-Facilitators: Bob Pole and RJ Pole, Co-Founders of hearOclub
Recent research demonstrates a clear association between untreated hearing loss and an increased risk of dementia, depression, falls and even cardiovascular diseases. Hearing challenges can be temporary or permanent. In either case, the potential for social isolation and reduced engagement in general increases, as people experience changes in their hearing ability. The team from hearOclub will shed some light on the data, detail the barriers and health impacts created by hearing loss that may go unnoticed, and define what a “hearing emergency” is and how to avoid it.
hearOclub, a Value Added Partner of The Eden Alternative, began as a mission to support Elders with changing hearing abilities and grew into a solution for hearing aid or cochlear implant users seeking peace of mind that their hearing needs would always be met. hearOclub accomplishes this through a consistent battery subscription service that keeps hearing aid users on track with their treatment and ensuring they always have the power to hear.
