Jen Quinones Writes: Lost in a world of Alzheimer's

Today I was thinking about the first person I ever met with Alzheimer’s. She would come to my office everyday looking for work, and would leave apologizing for something that occurred when she was a child.

That was 14 years ago. She has made the biggest impact and has become my greatest teacher. Although she is long gone, she is forever in my heart. Thank you Katherine for helping me to teach others how to care for amazing people like you!

You come to visit everyday
Lost in a world that’s gone away
You cry from confusion, something is wrong.
Images stuck in your head like a song.
All is old and nothing is new
You don’t know who you are, your memories are few.
Birds, Trees, Flowers, Bees
Simple words now hard to say,
You are lost in a world that’s gone away.
