New Data to Answer an Old Question

I just finished with yet another conference, the annual AHCA/NCAL event in Phoenix, Arizona. Two days of exhibiting and my feet are barking!

Denise Hyde and I met a lot of nice people and had a lot of the same conversations we always have at these events answering questions like, “What’s Eden up to these days?” and “How do I justify spending money on this stuff?” It’s the second question that really gets my juices flowing as I launch into my ROI sales pitch.

At this particular conference one of the major stories was new data published by National Research Corporation highlighting the positive impact of staff satisfaction on nursing home survey scores and customer satisfaction. So, here goes my ROI pitch.

Please accept my position that better survey scores and higher customer satisfaction are very likely to bring more customers, more revenue, and ultimately more profit to any nursing home’s bottom line.

Also, please accept my position that there is no better way to sustainably improve staff satisfaction than to implement real, deep culture change like The Eden Alternative. We’ve seen it over and over again in nursing homes across the country

If you accept these two ideas, the case is made. The Eden Alternative leads to higher staff satisfaction, which leads to better survey and customer satisfaction scores, which leads to higher revenues and higher profits.

So there you have it. The next time anyone asks you “how to justify spending money on this stuff” you have permission to use my answer. And for those people who ask you “where’s the data?” now you have an answer for that question as well.
