The Bridge at Highland in Portland, TN joined the Eden Alternative Registry on 5/26/2015.

To foster deeper relationships and sense of belonging this vibrant community has divided themselves into six neighborhoods, each named after trees indigenous to the area.

By doing this they have created a thriving environment that is specifically designed for those individual’s living with dementia. By utilizing the Serenity Innovations and Music in Memory programs they are honoring individual choices and creating a powerful sense of well-being for those that live and work at the Bridge.  Each day upon arising Elders enjoy a made to order breakfast followed with a fine dining lunch and dinner experience.   Between meals there are always plenty of treats to be had.

Afternoons are spent in the courtyard where Elders, families and care partner can be found visiting with each other, enjoying the gorgeous scenery or gardening in the raised flower beds. No two days are the same at the Bridge as they enjoy spontaneous activities like popping popcorn, listening to music or heading into to town to do some shopping. You can be sure they will be out at the Strawberry Festival when it comes to town.  Stop by for a visit and be sure to say hello to their golden doodle Bailey.
