The Language Of Care Is Universal

The Eden Alternative first crossed the border to Canada over 16 years ago.

Bill Thomas recognized early on that no matter where you are in the world, if care is based on the medical, institutional model you will find loneliness, helplessness and boredom.  The International Regional Coordinators have taken on the challenge to eliminate the Three Plagues and the institutional model through their hard work of translating the Eden Alternative 10 Principles to meet the need of their country’s culture.

Over the years we have learned from each other, share stories and taken on trials that affect all care partners. Fortunately, the rapid globalization of business that has occurred over the past several decades continues to evolve which has helped the Eden Alternative be successful around the world. The introduction of new technologies and social networking only makes it increasingly easy to work together.

Social networking is one way we can to help understand the complexities and simplicities of the different cultures engaged in The Eden Alternative journey.  We would like you to join us in the first ever International Blog.  Come connect with others so we can learn and grow together.
