Signature HealthCARE of Erin joined the Eden Registry on November 20, 2013. This home is snuggled in the quaint little town of Erin, Tennessee where folks often come together to lend a helping hand to one another. Community matters in Erin. Children from local schools come every week to sing songs, read books and visit with the Elders. They also come to help plant flowers, work on the landscaping, hunt eggs at Easter and enjoy fireworks on the 4th of July.
The Elders here bring the concept of community full-circle. They have provided over 200 back packs to children in need, Wii game systems to local schools and make donations to their local churches. They believe that if you aren’t busy it’s because you have chosen not to be.
Meaningful activities such as working in the vegetable garden, walking on the pathways outside or sitting by the fire with friends listening to music are woven into the fabric of daily life. Variety and spontaneity are plentiful here with yearly hot air balloon rides, fishing and floating in the creek, trips to the zoo and going outside to feed the Alpacas, “Batman” and “Robin.”
The Elders and care partner employees start each morning with music and devotional in the beautifully decorated dining room. Everyone here believes that loving relationships are inseparable from who they are
Elder’s art is displayed throughout the home for all to see and enjoy. Some artists even auction off their work to raise money for various charitable efforts. The administrator, Bobby Cotton says they have a goal of “creating an Eden home in rural America that can be showcased as the example of what can be…if you dream and believe in something special for our Elder population.” With all their determination and hard work they are surely to reach this goal.
