Welcome Harrodsburg Health and Rehab To The Registry

July 06, 2015
Suzette Molina, The Eden Alternative

Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Harrodsburg, KY, joined the Eden Alternative Registry on June 25, 2015.

They are nestled in the charming little town of Harrodsburg where many of the 86 Elders that live there grew up and raised their own families. As you walk in the door you will notice that they have hardwood floors throughout the home and they have taken a lot of care to decorate it with items that have meaning.

Old photos and quilts are the décor of choice for those living on Reminiscence Lane. To ensure deeper and more meaningful relationships this home has divided themselves into five active neighborhoods all uniquely named by the Elders that live on them. Creating a sense of smallness with consistency of relationships is especially important to the folks that live and work here.

Connections and community are at the heart beat of this lively organization as they host numerous local churches each week for services and bible studies. Elders enjoying gathering together each day to exercise, experience fellowship and eat their meals served on fine China.  If you are lucky enough to be in town for the 4th of July you are invited to stop by and enjoy the parade, fireworks and Ms. Horn’s famous stacked pie. Harrodsburg Health and Rehab sounds like a wonderful place in a beautiful home town. Please share pictures of Ms. Horn’s stacked pie on the Eden Facebook page. 🙂
