Broadway Terrace in Regina, Saskatchewan, joined the Eden Registry on August 9, 2013. This independent and assisted living community is the first of its kind in Canada to join the Eden Registry.

This vibrant community is home to 164 Elders. They have 123 independent living suites and 15 rooms in the Personal Care Home which is designed to assist Elders needing a little extra care. While the physical structure is simply gorgeous, the vibe of the rhythm of daily life is where the true beauty lies.

Elders are integrally involved in all decisions around their care and home. The Resident Council is very active and meets monthly to discuss activities, dining and education. Elders gather throughout the day and evening in the community lounge where there is a huge shuffle board, and pool tables and dance floor. It is open around the clock with a big screen TV for footballs games and movies.

Every third Thursday of the moth is Happy Hour, which is a fun filled afternoon with musical entertainment, sing-a-longs, and dancing. There are three balconies that provide an open air view of the city below.  If you come by for a visit you will likely see folks playing bridge and cribbage and generally enjoying time together. For more quite moments there is a private library that is staffed with an in-house librarian that works there every day. Volunteers also assist with keeping the library fresh and organized.

Convenience is a plus here at Broadway Terrace as Elders can use the computer in the library as they would like or they can take advantage of the onsite banking services. It is common to see Elders enjoying the larger patio area that overlooks the entry of the building where they can see the comings and goings in the home and they can participate in the planting and harvesting of the prolific garden filled with vegetables and herbs. The fruits of these gardens are used in the kitchen as part of the meal preparation.

Relationships, meaningful activities and a gorgeous human habitat make Broadway Terrace a very special place to grow and live.
